It was another week where the coronavirus dominated the sports scene, with more famous faces falling foul to the dreaded virus and sporting events across the globe being cancelled at an extraordinary rate of knots... 1. PM Abe: Just now I held
a telephone conference with Mr. Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee(IOC), with Mr. MORI, President of the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, Ms. KOIKE, Governor of Tokyo, and Ms. HASHIMOTO, Minister for #Tokyo2020, also present. 2. President Bach replied that he fully supports my proposal, and we agreed that the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held no later than the summer of 2021. We concurred that going forward, Japan will work in close cooperation with IOC President Bach Brendan Boyce @brendanboyce
Any athletes who’s doping ban would have seen them excluded from July/August
Olympics. Should also be excluded from the Games following postponement regardless of whether they are eligible by timeline to complete freely again by whatever date in future.
