MESSAGE FROM DR ROBERT MAHARG G.P.

Dear Patients

We hope you are all keeping safe at this extraordinary time. As you may be aware we have to make changes to usual service to protect you and the staff during this event.

We will be curtailing all routine appointments except for Antenatal, childhood vaccinations and Urgent /Emergency care.

We are providing doctor consultations via telephone for people and we hope a lot of issues can be sorted out via this method.

However if the doctor feels you need to be seen you will be facilitated at the surgery. You will be asked to wait in the car and can you ring when you are here. We will then ring you when the doctor is ready.

Regarding repeat prescriptions to free up phone lines, we are asking if you are able to email your request to ballybscripts@protonmail. com

This is a secure email. We understand that some patients or their family do not have access so we will accept phone calls for this small cohort.

Can you nominate which pharmacy you use so arrangements can be made for dispensing your prescription. Again please allow at least 48 -72 hours notice due to high volume. You can then collect directly from the pharmacy. Note you may need to contact your pharmacy as each has different arrangements.

Things are changing almost daily so we will update if there are further changes.

Again be safe in this worrying time and follow government advice re social distancing to help us reduce the rate of transmission. We need to protect our vulnerable patients and allow our hospitals to cope with the expected volume

BALLYBUNION MARKETING GROUP

With the weather being nice and the stresses of social isolation continuing to mount for many, we wanted to take a moment to reach out and provide some advice for those of you intending to visit Ballybunion for a walk and a bit of fresh air.

We realise the importance of exercise and time outdoors during normal circumstances and respect that these become even more important in situations like the one we now find ourselves in. We hope you enjoy the beach and cliff walks, but we strongly recommend and ask that you take every precaution to protect the most vulnerable in our town and society when doing so.

As a nation, we have one chance to flatten the curve to try and protect those that need it the most. We must not fail.

To give it the best chance we ask that you adhere to the expert advice, social distancing guidelines, and the other steps outlined here. We ask that you are considerate and mindful when deciding whether or not you get out of your car for the walk on the beach/cliffs. Again, this is our one shot. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines and expert advice.

If we do this right then we will be able to put this difficult time behind us sooner than later. If we do not, we’ll endure more hardship and loss. This is in our hands. Please do the right thing.

Thank you for your cooperation in these difficult times.
