SYMPATHY
To Lizzie Lane and family, Beenanaspig on the death of her sister Eileen (Nellie) Carbury (née Fitzgerald),(1932-2020), Brooklyn, New York and late of Beenanasbig. Nellie Carbury was laid to rest at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York. She was daughter of Jim Fitzgerald and Mollie Kelleher, her siblings were Liz, Mary and John; Sympathy to James and Deirdre Balfe and family, The Village Moyvane on the death of James’s Father John of Newcastle West who died recently. Sympathy to Matt Mooney and family on the death of his brother Patrick J Mooney (Lucan, Co. Dublin and formerly of Kilchreest, Loughrea, on March 28th, 2020.
DEATHS
DEATH of Michael Brendan Galvin, Patch, Duagh, on the 29th March, 2020, at Áras Mhuire Nursing Home, Listowel. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary, sisters Rose and Margaret. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and his many friends in Áras Mhuire. Up to recently Brendan was alert and enquired about his many relations and friends. Tributes; RIP Brendan a lovely gentle person. I have beautiful memories of him worked with him in Edenburn Hospital in 1970’s. Sincere sympathy to his family. Julie Keane Gleeson;
DEATH has occurred of Jimmy Kirby, Glenalappa, Moyvane and late of the Meadows, Listowel and Parkanna, Athea, on the 29th March, 2020. He was predeceased by his wife Mary. Sadly missed by his son Pat, daughters Bernie and Marie, grandson Conor, sister Bridie, nephews, and nieces. Predeceased by his brother John and sis Siobhan, and his mom was Mary Ann Stokes from Knockanure. Requiem Mass for Jimmy Kirby was celebrated on Thursday 2nd of April. Jimmy was a great athlete in his day and won several County Championship medals and trophies. Tribute; Jimmie I am so sorry to hear of your death only for you, I was only minutes from death when you lifted a limestone roller off me. I always thought you should have got an award for it Jimmie, I have thanked you before but I must thank you againBill Nolan; Wonderful memories of summers long ago in Parkana and Glenalappa. Wynin’ hay, stacking and drawin’ bales and all the jobs we used to do with Jimmy. We’ll never forget the Hillman Minx reg TZA 81 or the Zetor tractor. Many nights we spent watchin’ TV programmes like the High Chapparal, The Virginian etc. Sincere condolences to Patrick Bernie and Marie Also to his twin sister Bridie. Rest in peace old friend- Bill Mulvihill and family; Fondest memories of Jimmy, and all the Kirby Family, in the 50’s in Glenalappa. Always appreciative of him facilitating our move to that beautiful spot - we’ve never regretted it. Jimmy always had time for a chat, and was full of fun, whilst carrying out on the daily workload for farmers in that era and later. Deepest sympathy on his passing to all his family - particularly his sister, Bridie, son, Pat and daughters, Bernie and Marie. Thinking of you all at this sad time. Eoin and Pauline Hand.

GOOD FRIDAY day of fast and abstinence. The intention for Good Friday includes a prayer “for those who suffer because of this pandemic”, that is, those who “suffer the consequences of the current pandemic” The prayer asks that God in His compassion might protect those who are suffering, relieve the pain of those who are sick, give strength to those who are taking care of them, and welcome the deceased into eternal peace. Easter Sunday 12th April.
