BALLYHAR DYNAMOS FC

BLAST FROM THE PAST - The club in its twenty first year in existence qualified for its fourth senior appearence in the Reserve cup final in the season 1995/96 with Kerryhead Rovers from Ballyheigue being the opposition.

Murt Scott has stepped down as manager mid way through the season, he felt it was time for a new voice at the helm as the team was not having the same luck with results as the previous season. Two players allowed their names go forward (would it happen today) as a successor and James O’Sullivan was appointed and led the senior team to the final.

We got off to the worst possible start conceding a goal on the sixth minute, Owen O’Sullivan did have the ball in the Kerryhead net after a half an hour only for it to be called back for off side, Soon after the seasiders from North Kerry made it 2-0 making it a tough challenge to get back into the game.

Before half time the Kerry Head keeper saved well from Noel McCarthy and on the stroke of half time Tommy Brosnan headed over from close range.

The second half saw us go close with chances from Jeremiah O’Sullivan, Dermot O’Meara and an overhead kick from Jamie Courtney (always took on the spectacular), but it was Kerry Head who got their third goal on the 80th minute to seal the win and so inflicting a second Reserve Cup final defeat in three seasons for the Dynamos.

Squad: Jimmy O’Sullivan, Cyril Morris, Jeremiah O’Sullivan, JJ Canty, Mike Allen, Noel Mccarthy, Mike O’Sullivan, Tommy Brosnan, Eamonn Kennedy, Dermot O’Meara, Owen O’Sullivan, Jamie Courtney, Donal O’Donoghue, Tom Corbett, Brendan O’Sullivan, Eamonn O’Connor, Jerry (S) O’Sullivan and player/ manager James O’Sullivan.
