Templeglantine Community Council of Muintir na Tíre wishes to convey its sincere condolences to the Carmody family on the recent death of Mary who was secretary of the local Muintir na Tíre from its foundation in 1964 up to time of her illness a few years. She gave over fifty years of dedicated service to the organisation and the community. The many successful local projects of which she was the main instigator will stand as a reminder of her love of place and community. Go dtuga Dia suaimhneas síoraí dá hanam.

CÚRSAÍ EAGLAISE

Saturday evening mass at 6pm continues to go out live on the Templeglantine/Tournafulla/ Mountcollins Facebook page. On Saturday evening last the mass was celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Tournafulla. Some people are experiencing difficulty in obtaining it live due to lack of proper broadband structure. A recording is available on Facebook one hour later where the quality of transmission is much better. Prayers and Eucharistic Adoration continue in Templeglantine Church on Wednesday evenings 7-8pm with Rosary at 7.30pm going out on the radio system where people with receivers can join in the prayers. TIDY TOWNS

It was announced last week by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring, that the 2020 Tidy Towns Competition was cancelled. This competition is in existence for over sixty years and this is probably the first time it is not being held. Templeglantine has been involved in the annual event for over forty of those years. The local committee has been very active over recent years and the results of their dedication to the improvement of the local environment are quite apparent. Under the Covid-19 guidelines it is not possible for groups to get together to carry out local projects. The annual Team Limerick Clean-up on Good Friday had to be cancelled this year.
