EVENTS

We are completely overwhelmed with the wonderful support we have received over the last couple of months. It is a very hard time for so many charities trying to fundraise and there are so many events cancelled, but yet again the people of Kerry supported yet again.

The GAA club in Listry started the weekend off with a 48 hour run, with people from the community and worldwide taking part. They ran all during the day and night taken it in turns to run a km. To date they have raised over €12,000 for the Foundation and Kerry Cancer support. What an amazing amount to raise. A huge thank you to all who organised and of course all who supported.

Legion ladies footballers along with their management team aimed to run 250km on Saturday last again to raise funds for the Kerry Hospice Foundation. They did way more than their target and they continue to fundraise. They had a great turnout on Saturday with some great pictures on social media. You really can’t beat the GAA for hosting events and of course supporting.

We are so grateful to both clubs for this great work and thank you all in the Legion club for your kindness.

A huge congratulations to Monica Sheehan who on Monday achieved her 620,000 steps for the month of May. To date she has raised €10,000 and still continues to receive donations. We cannot thank you enough Monica who is a wonderful supporter of the Foundation and is involved since the early days with Ted. Thank you to all in Killarney branch who got behind this event and a huge thank you to all that supported.

GALLYS GALLOP

Eoghan Galvin too finished his challenge this week much to the delight of his neighbours who came out to cheer him home. Eoghan was fundraising for the Foundation and Kerry Cancer support and in memory of his mom. To date he has €15,000 raised which is just phenomenal. We are blown away by this fantastic generosity and well done Eoghan.

VIRTUAL RUN

As the sunflower days were cancelled this year we decided to do a virtual run. I asked the ever obliging Michelle Greaney to come on board and it just took off. We received huge support from right around the world and we are so grateful to all who took part and donated. Medals for all, so please get in touch on Facebook to recieve your medal.

HEAD SHAVE

A huge well done to Mairead Fernane our Treasurer who last week shaved her head in memory of her niece Marlene. To date she has raised €3500. Well done Mairead and a huge thank you to all who supported. To all of you who continue to support us we really do appreciate it and we would not have been able to fund any of the units but for your support.
