The AIB are providing funding to local community projects supporting those in need during these unpreceden­ted times. Rockmount Care Centre in Kilgarvan was chosen as a recipient of the very generous donation of €400. The presentati­on was made by former GAA Star and Branch Manager at AIB Kenmare, Colm Cooper to Mary Hussey, Nurse Manager at Rockmount Care Centre on 13th May 2020. This donation will assist Rockmount in continuing to provide the meals service and support people in need living in the community. The dinner and desert is delivered to your door. DEATH

Norbert Shatikat, Cappanliva­ne, Kilgarvan, passed away on Saturday 23rd May 2020. To his family and friends we extend our deepest sympathy.

HOSPITAL

University Hospital Kerry is delighted to announce their new virtual visiting program. The service will allow patients to have a video call (via WhatsApp) using a hospital Digi Pad. This 2-week pilot service is aimed to support patients who don’t have their own digital device. If successful, it is hoped to extend the operationa­l hours of the service. University Hospital Kerry is grateful for the support from the Dublin fundraisin­g group in #comfort4co­vid for the donation of the six Digi-pads.

IRISH CANCER SOCIETY

This June you can can give your support by completing a Marathon in a Month. You can go solo, or why not encourage members of your household to get involved too. It’s a great way to get your recommende­d exercise. It can be over a few hours, days or weeks; in your home, your back garden, you’re in control. You can plan your runs so that you can stay within the 5km distance of your home. By taking part you can ensure cancer patients and their families have all the support they need at this this extremely worrying time. Last year over 1,000 people took part in the challenge, why not join the team?
