You’ve got a fan in me – Pat sings praises of The Kerryman’s new e-paper

- By FERGUS DENNEHY

IT’S just over three weeks since The Kerryman launched its brand new e-paper service and one man who has been enjoying the service is Killarney man and East Kerry GAA stalwart, Pat O’Brien.

After putting out a call on our social media for feedback on the new subscription service, Pat, an avid weekly reader of the paper, got in touch with us to let us know what he enjoys about it - which it turns out is quite a lot!

“I’m really enjoying it. I just love the immediacy of a newspaper in the palm of your hand. Before with a newspaper, you might need a briefcase to carry one but times are changing. The e-paper though, what I like about is that it’s immediate, it’s all right there in your hand ready to go on a Wednesday morning,” said Pat.

“The way that it is laid out too, I think is excellent. When you click the three little dots on the page, you’re straight away given all the list of articles and you can jump straight to the section you want to head to first - which for me is always sports,” he said.

“After the sports then, it’s onto the news section and, again, I can look through all the pages easily and see what jumps out at me,” he said.

And an added bonus for Pat - an avid Sudoku player - is that all the puzzles that he loved to do in the paper are all now interactive as well.

And even though he is very happy overall with the service, he said that it still won’t stop him purchasing a physical copy of the paper every now and then, especially if he sees an article that he’d like to physically cut out and add to his scrapbook.
