Europe Hotel to honour front-line heroes with re-opening giveaway

WITH the countdown on to the re-opening of the hotel sector, there’s a bit of a buzz in Killarney in particular – and one Killarney hotel is getting ready to mark the occasion by giving something back to those who’ve worked hardest on our behalf during the COVID lock-down.

The Europe Hotel and Resort has told The Kerryman that it is looking forward to re-opening its doors and welcoming guests from July 8, but is also excited to pay a special ‘thank you’ to front-line workers – 50 of them, in total.

The hotel has asked members of the public to each nominate a ‘frontline hero’ of their choice, each of whom will be in with a shot at winning an overnight stay at one of the venue’s Lakeview rooms. Breakfast and dinner will be included, as well as a bottle of bubbly in each winner’s room on arrival.

“We have missed our guests and colleagues and cannot wait to re-open our doors,” said Killarney Hotels Managing Director Michael Brennan. “Each of the 50 lucky winners will receive a well-deserved pampering break, and it will be our honour to look after them.

“We are delighted to contribute and say thank you to our frontline workers, and would love to see other hotels and resorts following suit. This time has been incredibly challenging for everyone and we hope that this will make 50 people and their guests very happy.”

The event got underway on Monday (June 22) and will run until July 10, the hotel explained.
