DEATHS
Nancy Spillane (née O’Leary) of Ballyoran, Castlelyons, Cork and Bridgeville, Kilgarvan passed away on Monday 15th June 2020. To her children Margo, Michael, Neil, Mary and Declan, Sisters Joan and Alice, brothers Michael, Gene and extended family we express our deepest sympathy.
Polly O’Leary, sister of Nancy Spillane and late of Bridgeville, Kilgarvan died recently in the USA. To her family we extend our deepest sympathy.
Dr. Maurice O’Brien of Railway Road Kilgarvan and Caherdavin, Limerick passed away on Tuesday 16th June 2020. Dr Maurice O’ Brien was the husband of the late Mary (née Lynch). To his brother Brendan and extended family we express our deepest sympathy.
URGENT APPEAL
A message from St Patrick’s Church, Kilgarvan. In Preparation for re-opening of churches for the celebration of Mass and the Sacraments from Monday, 29th June 2020. In order for our church to re-open for mass we require many volunteers for the foreseeable future for cleaning and sanitising on a regular basis, people to act as stewards etc. The duty will be ongoing but will be arranged on a Rota basis. If you would be willing to volunteer please phone or text 087 436 4140 or 087 903 1964 with your name and phone number. Any assistance would be most welcome. Unless all procedures are put in place, the church cannot re-open to the public for Mass. Parish Office: The Parish office at Saint Patrick’s Church Kilgarvan will re-open on Monday 29th June and you are welcome to call in Monday or Friday (9.30 a.m. – 1.30 p.m). All visitors to the office are asked to adhere to strict social distancing. Parishioners can return Weekly Envelopes, Trócaire boxes, Spring and Easter Offerings.

TOP OF COOM
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions The Top of Coom Sheep Shearing Competition will not be going ahead this year. The sheep will get their haircuts but not with an audience. The proprietors are looking forward to seeing you all at the Top of Coom Sheep shearing 2021.
