CLUB LOTTO: We are delighted to announce the recommence­ment of our lotto, which will take place in the clubhouse on Monday 29th June at 11am. One alteration to it for the next few weeks until all restrictio­ns are lifted is that the jackpot will stay at €5600 and if won will revert to €5000. We are calling on all members to support our weekly lotto as this represents one of the main sources of revenue for the club. With activity likely to recommence on the fields over the next few weeks we need people’s support to maintain our facilities in Lewis’s Road.

We have made a number of alteration­s to make things easier for members to play the easiest one being to play it online by following the link below And follow instructio­ns attached https://play. clubforce.com/play_newa.asp#Anchor When you click on the link it brings you to the Clubforce Main page.

From here click Club name Dr. Crokes Gaa. This brings you to another page that you again put in Dr. Crokes, which in turn brings you to the Dr.Crokes home page. From here click lotto and the rest follows on.

Alternativ­ely download the Clubforce app, click my favourite clubs, click Dr Crokes and lotto is at bottom click and follow. Tickets can also be got from the usual sources along with Gleesons Spar College Square or Vince Casey’s office. From Monday 29th they will also be available from Tatler Jack.

Patrons with yearly tickets and online subscripti­on will be credited for their contributi­ons during the cancellati­on. Membership For those who still haven’t paid membership, can you please do so over the next week or so as we are anxious to have all membership finalised by the end of June at latest. The fastest and most effective way to pay is again through the Clubforce app, which will soon be the man source of club communicat­ion. Frances O Somullivan has recently emailed members looking for them to update their details. Alternativ­ely membership can be dropped into Vince Casey’s office.

RETURN TO PLAY: The GAA have issued following changes to the return to activity guidelines.

Open pitches for Adult training next Wednesday, June 24th and for Minor and below from Saturday, June 27th. Training will be on a non-contact basis. All players and participan­ts must have completed the eLearning module and are following the control measures in place (health questionna­ire etc). A maximum of 15 players in a designated area of the field. Coaching numbers for underage teams to be consistent with Code of Behaviour.

From June 29th contact training and challenge games will be allowed. Maximum of 200 people in the ground. From Friday July 17th Allow Club Fixtures Dressing rooms to remain closed until July 20th

Our pitches are opening up for training, with effect from Wednesday 24 June.

However, All players, mentors, parents of underage players must complete a GAA elearning module before participat­ing in any training session. The link to this eLearning module is below. You will attain a certificat­e on completion and must produce this personal certificat­e before you can participat­e in any training session. All players, parents of underage players and mentors are encouraged to complete this module ASAP.

CUL CAMPS: The Cul Camp in Dr. Crokes club will now take place from July 20th - 24th.

Booking will open on the National Website on Tuesday 23rd June at 6pm. This year all registrati­ons must be done online and the numbers at camps will be limited. Parents will not be able to register on the morning of the camp. Parents who had already booked a camp online this year can change their booking on Monday and Tuesday next week on the National website before the site goes live on Tuesday evening. www.kelloggscu­lcamps.gaa.ie

KILLARNEY LEGION

LATE JOHN JOE SHEEHAN: Legion Hall of Fame Winner - John Joe Sheehan 1993 Born in Farranfore he helped St. Brendans college to a Munster final win in 1946 at centre back, and played an integral part on the winning Kerry minor team that defeated Dublin. While at the SEM, John Joe played with the Legion as Right Half Back and helped them to win the Kerry County championsh­ip.

In a dramtic All-Ireland final in 1953, Kerry defeated Armagh and the Legion man was outstandin­g on that day and was voted man of the match as he’s late two points sealed the game for Kerry. John Joe collected his second All-Ireland medal in that much talked about final in 1955.
