Killarney Pride hosts a successful General Meeting
EXCITEMENT is building in the Killarney Pride community for the upcoming ‘Pride Inside’ festival, which takes from July 11 to July 19 and which will be an online celebration of everything ‘Pride’.
The events happening online throughout the week of the festival will include panel discussions, watch parties, quizzes, and live music.
Killarney Pride was speaking to The Kerryman this week after they held a very successful online ‘extraordinary general meeting’ (EGM) last Thursday night, in an effort to help attract new members to its Pride Committee.
“We wanted to reach out to anyone in the community who wanted to join our committee, and so we hosted our EGM where anyone who was an ally to the LGBT community could come and see what our group was all about,” said Alexandra, one of the spokespersons for the Killarney group.
“Everyone who came was able to enjoy the conversation, we were able to designate new roles to the committee members.
“We’re going to have people who will be controlling our social media, we’ll have someone who will be liaising with businesses etcetera, so we’re very happy with how it went because we do need a strong committee group,” Alexandra continued.
Going on, Alexandra said that anyone in the community who wishes to get involved with Killarney Pride should send them a message on Facebook.
