Litter siblings land Sunday double for trainer Harty

-

THERE is no end to the man, is there? Liam Dowling just keeps on churning out good winners and it was quite something the way his bitch, Ballymac Wisdom, won an open 525 race at last week’s Tuesday meeting at the Oakview venue.

There were two good ones in front of Ballymac Wisdom into the third bend, Killahan Ganster and Roadstone Barney, but she picked them up in the most impressive manner possible and, on very sticky going that was rated .40 slow, she cruised home six lengths ahead of Killahan Ganster in a quite magnificent 28.77.

Very definitely the run of the week.

A double was recorded at the same meeting by Timothy Gilbourne, of Kilmeedy, Co Limerick, with Gulleen Act (30.22) and Gulleen Bob (29.38).

The other winners were Rondeau, 29.03; Pickupthepace, 29.68; Killahan Diver, 29.27; Stormy Cruiser, 29.22; Steeple Rd Lass, 29.99; Jirano Jet, 29.14; Fire Height Sue, 29.55.

Fast forward to Sunday evening’s meeting and another double was recorded by Maurice Harty, of The Spa, Tralee, with litter sister and brother, Lassinagh Grand and Lassinagh Rebel, which clocked 29.75 and 29.54, respectively (.10 slow), but nothing could compare with the run produced in the seventh race (A4 525) by Serenissimo, owned by Declan Moloney, of Ballaugh, Co Limerick.

This lady absolutely flew to the first bend from her trap 5 draw and she wound up winning by eight lengths from Breton Avril in 28.63 (.10 slow). It was just her second race (she won first time out in 29.21) and she is one hell of a future prospect for Moloney.

The hottest 525yds race on the programme, for A1 class, was won in decisive fashion by Mikies Kemzo, which clocked 28.99 in beating the front-running Millridge Tip, while there was a run of 17.97 (.05 slow) over the sprint distance by Misty Hataway.

The Ray Fleming-trained Bernal

Egan (Droopys Jet – Knocknaboul Rose) was another to excel in winning an A5 525 race in 29.02, while the other winners were: Seomra Wendy, 18.48; Saleen Grace, 29.63; Smearla Dazzler, 29.29, and Dungara Brandy, 29.64.

In relation to Dungara Brandy, he paid quite remarkable tote dividends through online betting-€34.80 for a win and €29.70 for a place (both to a €1 stake), while the winning trio paid €268.50 (aided by a carry-over).
