Camogie board outlines plan for return

THE Kerry Camogie County Board has laid out its plans for return to play with a suite of fixtures for underage to adult fixtures.

Possibly the best news to emerge is that Clanmauric­e will get the chance to defend their Munster and All Ireland junior club titles, with the provincial championsh­ip set to get underway later this month.

The County Board have made provision for an Under 12 League, an Under 14 Championsh­ip, an Under 16 Championsh­ip, a Minor Championsh­ip and a Junior B Championsh­ip.

All championsh­ips will be played on a league basis. Domestic action resumes later this month with the Minor Championsh­ip getting underway on Sunday, July 26.

Under 12 League

Group Rounds: Wednesdays - August 5, 19; September 2, 16

County Finals A&B: Sunday - September 27 Under-14 Championsh­ip (League Format) Group Rounds: Thursdays - July 30; August 13, 27; September 10, 24

County Finals A&B: Sunday - October 4

U16 Championsh­ip (League Format)

Group Rounds: Tuesdays - August 4, 18; September 1, 15, 29

County Finals A&B: Sunday - October 11 Minor Championsh­ip (League Format)

Group Rounds: Sundays - July 26; August 16, 30

County Final: Sunday - September 13

Junior B Championsh­ip (League Format) Group Rounds: Saturdays - August 8, 22; September 5

County Final: Sunday - September 20

At a national level the Camogie Associatio­n have laid out the superstruc­ture for the resumption of inter-county activity, but as of yet precise dates and fixtures have to be confirmed.

• The 2020 Liber ty Insurance All-Ireland Championsh­ips will take place between October – December 2020. The exact format and dates of these competitio­ns will be finalised in the coming weeks. The competitio­ns will begin on a round-robin basis with increased groups before progressin­g to the knockout stages. There will be no automatic promotion/relegation in the 2020 All-Ireland Championsh­ips.

• The 2020 All-Ireland Under 16 Championsh­ips will take place between October – December 2020. The exact format and dates of these competitio­ns will be finalised in the

coming weeks.

• The 2020/2021 AIB All-Ireland Club Championsh­ips will proceed as normal but with a revised calendar that will run into 2021. The exact format and dates of these competitio­ns will be finalised in the coming weeks.

• The 2020 Littlewood­s Ireland Camogie Leagues which began in February have now been cancelled.

• The 2020 Tesco All-Ireland Minor Championsh­ips which began in February have now been cancelled. However, in order to facilitate a programme of matches in a regional format, Minor competitio­ns will take place on a Provincial basis in 2020 from October to December.

• The National Competitio­ns Management Committee will confirm competitio­n entries for all competitio­ns in the coming weeks.

• The Associatio­n is continuing to work through options regarding underage structures and initiative­s in 2020 and will provide an update on this in the coming weeks.
