KERRY HOSPICE FOUNDATION PRESENTATIONS

We here at the Kerry Hospice Foundation are simply blown away by the generosity of you the public over the last number of months and over the last 30 years. The last few months have been tough in that we couldn’t hold some of our yearly events but the support has been amazing.

This week saw John McGrath and Denis Kennelly along with family and friends pop in to the gardens of the Unit to present a cheque for over €44,000. They have raised this over the last number of months and they also hope to hold a charity soccer game in August. An amazing group of people doing wonderful fundraising for the Kerry Hospice Foundation.

To John and Denis and all involved we can not thank you enough for this and we are looking forward to the big game. To all who have supported we are hugley grateful.

200KM FOR JUNE

This event has taken place right over the month of June, in which Olive and Mary took to the roads to cover 200km over the month. They finished this event last week and raised over €4000. It was a huge challenge but they did it and posted their efforts every day on social media. Well done ladies and thank you for this amazing fundraising. We also thank all who donated to your page.

54321 EVENT

This year will see the 54321 event take place again but with fewer numbers due to regelations. We are delighted to be again a chosen charity along with Enable Ireland Kerry Branch and Skellig Stars. This group has raised huge funds for charities over the years and over €30,000 last year for the Foundation alone.

This year Catherine Foley is our champion and she will be raising funds on the Foundations behalf. We are delighted to have Catherine representing us on this challenge and thank her in advance for the wonderful support. Catherine has been a great supporter of the Kerry Hospice Foundation for many years. To all involved we wish you all the best of luck and we are so thankful to TJ and the organisers for involving us in it.

https://courses.gaa.ie/covid19clubed A copy of your certificate must be given to the designated Covid superviser for that team (parents/guardians to complete for underage) or emailed to sheiladickson58@ gmail.com (Covid Officer)

2) Players, parents/guardians, mentors must complete the health questionnaire once only https://returntoplay.gaa.ie and prior to each session click reconfirm if no change to health.

3) All members must have paid their membership in order to participate in training and matches. It will be the responsibility of the player and or parent/ guardian to inform the team’s Covid supervisor of any change in circumstances before any subsequent sessions. As with any step in the return to normal there is a risk attached and all players, parents, coaches etc. need to be aware of this.

The club is making every possible effort to make the return to play as safe as possible, but ultimately the decision to participate will lie with the individual or parent/guardian.

The club is implementing a number of measures in line with the public health guidance to protect the safety and wellbeing of all who pass through our gates, and it is essential that everyone in the club works together to ensure compliance with these guidelines. USE hand sanitisers on entry and exit to grounds, hand sanitiser stations will be clearly identified.

MAINTAIN social distancing ENSURE good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette. DO NOT share personal equipment such as water bottles.

The clubhouse, changing rooms and shower areas are not available for use until further notice. Toilets will be available on a controlled basis. More information will be given to players and parents/guardians in relation to entry and exit to grounds from team mentors as you are aware this is an ever changing landscape and we want to deliver the most up to date advice/ guidance as possible. Sheila Dickson, Covid Officer can be contacted on 086 8325059 if you have any queries and each team has a nominated covid supervisor.

As a club we have always stepped up to the plate, and gone beyond what is asked of us at times and this is no different, with your help and adhering to the guidance issued. Please raise any concerns / queries you may have with the covid supervisor, team mentor or officer as it is a learning experience for all of us as we strive to implement best practice and safely return to play. All parent/guardians are reminded that in line with guidelines, all juveniles must be delivered to training/matches by their own parent/uardian who has completed the eLearning module on behalf of the juvenile, and who will be required to either sign to confirm that the contents of the player’s Health Questionnaire is still valid and that there are no changes, no symptoms, temperature is not higher than 37.5C, etc. or have updated the Health Questionnaire on line before training/match.
