Killorglin’s Christina thrilled at release of first ever book

- By FERGUS DENNEHY

IT had been a long time in the works for Killorglin native and author, Christina Leopold, who can now proudly state that she is a published author.

Christina’s first ever book is out now and it is entitled ‘No Bake Vegan Desserts’ and it contains 60 vegan recipes for desserts.

Speaking to The Kerryman this week, Christina said the idea for the book started over six years ago when she first became a vegan herself and she realised there was limited options for her to eat and so had to start creating her own dishes.

“I’d wanted to put a book together for maybe the last three years since I’ve been in recipe development and of course then, there was the process of learning everything myself. It was in the works for about a year-and-a-half before its release in November so I’m really happy to see it out now,” she said.

“I went vegan six years ago and at the time there weren’t many options in the shops at all so that’s why I got into and started making everything at home,” she said.

What makes this different to other recipe books out there, Christina says is the ‘No Bake’ aspect of it which she says means that unlike baking which she says those recipes can sometimes come across as really “scientific” and complicated for some people, her recipes allow for more freedom and creativity.

‘No Bake Vegan Desserts’ is available to buy online from all good booksellers with the main ones, Christina said, being Amazon and Book Depository.
