GAA DRAW

The final Limerick Clubs GAA draw for this term will take place on Saturday week, January 30th. Along with the usual range of prizes this months draw will have a star prize of €500. Mountcolli­ns Gaa club will continue to promote the draw for 2021. A huge prize fund will again be on offer each month with a top prize of €10,000 down to a 40th prize of €100. Membership will cost €10 per month or a once off payment of €100. Details from any club member.

GAA CLUB

All GAA activities remain suspended at the moment due to the coronaviru­s and it looks like it will be a while before we see an improvemen­t. Pitched remain closed for matches and training. The walking track around the local pitch remains open and is well used on a daily basis. Those using the facility are reminded that for health and safety reasons no dogs are allowed on GAA property. The walking track is floodlit in the evenings.

NEW RELEASE

‘The Mighty Men from the Shannonsid­e’ is a compositio­n based on the victory of the Limerick Hurlers in winning the 2020 All Ireland hurling final is written and performed by Johnny Walsh. The song is proving very popular with music followers and is receiving regular airplay on all local stations. The CD is priced at €5 and all proceeds go to Milford Hospice. Copies are available in outlets in Mountcolli­ns, Abbeyfeale, Newcastlew­est, Templeglan­tine and Tournafull­a. BOOK REPRINT

The recently published ‘Memories of Mountcolli­ns’ book has now gone for reprint and will be available shortly to all who have requested a copy. Any extra copies will be sold on a first come first basis so this will be a final opportunit­y to buy a copy.
