CELEBRATING LEITRIM

Tony Downey’s article, ‘ Memories of Dromahair’ is one of the many fine contributions in the forthcoming publication ‘ Leitrim Stór’ a book continuing Leitrim’s historic, social and human interest stories which will be launched in the Bush Hotel on July 31.

The celebration commences at 8 p. m. with a gala dinner. There will be special guests and entertainment. Tickets for the event, at € 25.00, are available from Jim Meehan, 086 2331593.

TIDY TOWNS

Round one of the Tidy Towns judging is in full swing till the middle of July. Please be kind enough to pick up any litter or rubbish that you see in our lovely village.

Litter pick every Wednesday evening congregating at the Depot at 7.30. Many hands make light work! For further information telephone the Depot Office 07191 34986 any morning.

Best Kept Estate Competition: this is being run by Dromahair Dev/ Tidy Towns. They are encouraging all housing estates in the village to maintain their areas well as judging will be happening in July.

‘ No Junk Mail’ stickers: these will be distributed around the village shortly by members of the DDA/ TT in an effort to reduce waste in our area. You are encouraged to put the sticker on your letter box. There is no charge for them but any donation, no matter how small, will be gratefully accepted. Let’s reduce our bin charges and landfill together.
