Tourlestrane defeat Coolaney to set up final meeting with Molaise
COOLANEY/ MULLINABREENA 0- 07 TOURLESTRANE 1- 17 TOURLESTRANE will meet St. Molaise Gaels in the Division One final after their comprehensive win over Coolaney Mullinabreena on Saturday.
This top of the table division 1 clash played in Cloonacool on Saturday evening, started with Tourlestrane playing with a slight breeze. However Kieran Finan put Coolaney/ Mullinabreena in front with a converted free in the second minute, this was the only time that the men in blue were to lead in this game, as frees from Cathal Henry and Pat Harte in the fourth and seventh minutes put Tourlestrane in front and they pushed on to lead 0- 13 to 0- 3 at half time.
Coolaney/ Mullinabreena needed a very good start to the second half to have any chance of getting anything out of this game, but Tourlestrane started the second half as they had finished the first, and when Pat Harte converted a free in the 5th minute. Cathal Henry found the net with the game’s only goal one minute later and it was a up hill battle for Coolaney/ Mullinabreena after that. It was the 14th minute of the half when they got their first score of the second period, a well taken point from play by Declan McCormack. In fairness to Coolaney/ Mullinabreena they never gave up and kept battling until the final whistle. Tourlestrane had impressive performers in Cathal Henry, Barry Walsh and Oisin Kennedy. Best for Coolaney/ Mullinabreena were Declan McCormack and Enda Kivlehan.
