Harps Under 16 boys clinch A league title

-

EASTERN Harps captured the U16 ‘ A’ League title by defeating Shamrock Gaels on a score line of 0: 10 to 0: 08. This was a very sporting game played in perfect conditions in Markievicz Park. Eastern Harps led at the break by 0: 06 to 0: 03 but this could have been a lot more only for the two brilliant saves by Shamrock Gaels Number One Ultan McKenna. Eastern Harps defence remained strong in the second half and limited Shamrock Gaels to five points in the second half.

Eastern Harps added four points to the scoreboard which could have been more only for another top drawer save from Ultan McKenna. Ciaran Hannon was top scorer in this game with 4 points which meant that Eastern Harps ran out winners. I have no doubt that we will see these two teams meet again in the coming years.
