THESE long summer days bring lots of free time to be filled with fun activities and, if you like to fill some – or all – of that time with books, then there is plenty to be excited about this summer! Top of the list must be the upcoming release of the new JK Rowling book, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Following the success of the Harry Potter series, this play will be released in hardback on none other day than Harry Potter’s birthday, the 31st of July. It is possibly one of the most eagerly awaited books of the year, for both adult and children Harry Potter fans alike.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set 19 years after the last book in the hugely popular series, so fans will get to see what life is like for grown- up Harry. If you haven’t already experienced the thrill of travelling to Hogwarts on the Hogwarts Express, or getting lost in Diagon Alley, now is the time to step aboard and start the adventure. There’s lots of catching up to be done!

For all young readers, Naturama is a new book, beautifully written and illustrated by Irish authors, Michael Fewer and Melissa Doran. It is perfect for introducing children to nature throughout each season in Ireland, from flowers that grow in your back garden, to jellyfish and other creatures you can find at the seaside. Great for the classroom and at home, this is a book that gives children a chance to see the magic of nature. Speaking of magic, The Magic Side of Knocknarea, written by Silvestro Maggi and illustrated by Lani Gregory, also shows younger readers the beauty that we have right here on our own doorstep in Sligo, from Queen Meave’s grave to surfing in Strandhill and, again, it is beautifully illustrated.

These are just a few of our bestselling children’s books this summer here in Liber. We have a wide range in stock to suit every age group: from picture books by Julia Donaldson and Dr Seuss, right up to the young adult fiction genre, with the novels of The Great Library series by Rachel Caine and the ever popular Maze Runner series by James Dashner pleasing old fans and winning new fans every day.

And if you’re looking for something specific, we also provide an ordering service and would be happy to help you find what you’re looking for.
