Club praises loyal fans who
The Sligo Rovers Annual Draw raised a massive € 55,000 for the club and fans were thanked for their continued support.
The 2016 Sligo Rovers Annual Draw took place at the weekend and raised over € 55,000, well ahead of the € 50,000 target.
Congratulations to Conor McCarthy of Rosses Point who scooped the first prize of € 5,000. The full list of prize winners appears below.
Commenting on the success of the draw, Chairman Martin Heraghty said it was fantastic to see the response from people.
He said: “The response is a wonderful reminder of how unique our club is. A big thank you to Mark Cummins and his team who organised the draw and to our supporters from near and far for their magnificent support”. Honorary Treasurer David Rowe added the draw does so much to support Rovers throughout the year. He said the success of the draw shows how much the club is regarded by its loyal fans, adding that following a difficult financial year in 2015, things are looking positive this year. He added: “The success of the draw is a further important step in bringing financial stability to the club. “After a difficult year last year which left debt carried forward and other gaps we have made huge strides this year, moving forward on the pitch is underpinned by a strong team off the pitch and financial stability.” The list of winners are: 1 Conor Mc Carty - Rosses Point 2.
