‘ It’s a good place to buy with great people and prices’

TUBBERCURRY is one of the most popular locations to buy property outside of Sligo town.

The town of Tubbercurry has a large number of services and amenities available, as well as being well positioned for a short commute to larger areas such as Sligo town.

It is the capital of South Sligo and with good reason say local auctioneers and business people.

John Murphy, the director of Murphy and Sons, who have an agency in Tubbercurry as well as Sligo town, is impressed with the current property market in Tubbercurry.

“The property market in Tubbercurry is improving. It was stagnant for a number of years, but now it’s gradually improving.” he explains.

At Murphy and Sons, they get a great deal of enquiries about Tubbercurry and its surrounding area, and John doesn’t find it surprising.

He says: “In relation to Tubbercurry and the area 1- 2km outside of the town is very popular, and it’s not difficult to see why.

“Within the town there are the County Council offices which play home to a well- stocked library, and there are also brilliant educational facilities in the area, with an excellent national school and secondary school available to residents of the area.”

One of the reasons locations in South Sligo are so popular is down to basic affordability, and Tubbercurry is no different.

John says: “It’s possible to buy a good quality, good sized 3 bed semi- detached house in the area for as low as € 50,000, which is tremendous value in comparison to some parts of the county.”

It’s not just a good place to buy, there’s also a good sellers market available in the town.

As John Murphy comments: “There’s a demand for property so it’s a good time to sell.

“Sometimes the prices may not be as good as anticipated, but there is a market for selling.

“A better quality of house will always sell well in Tubbercurry.”

One of the most desirable living locations in Sligo, Tubbercurry is a good choice of place to live for so many reasons.

As auctioneer John Murphy puts it: “It’s a good place to buy because it’s a good place to live, with great people and reasonable prices.”

Now what more could one ask for?
