Collooney Village Re- Developmen­t Ltd lotto was held on July 20. The numbers drawn were 5, 17, 28 and 29. There was no winner of the jackpot prize of € 25. The four lucky winners were Anne Fox; Tommy Sheanon; John Hanley and Joanne O’Neill. Congratula­tions to the lucky winners and well done.

The next draw for € 10,000 and will be held tomorrow evening, August 3 in Culleens Pub. Entry envelopes are available in local businesses. Good luck to all who enter.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Patsy and family on the recent death of Owen Sweeney, Carrignaga­t following a short illness. As Owen’s remains were received at the Church of the Assumption, Collooney and at St Nathy’s Cemetery, Guards of honour were made by many local organisati­ons including Owenmore Gaels, Collooney Tidy Towns and Collooney Active Retirement. May he rest in peace.

BINGO

Collooney Bingo takes place every Thursday night in Collooney Hall at 9 p. m. There was a great crowd last Thursday with the jackpot at a record of € 6,250. Next week the jackpot will be € 6,300 on 46 numbers. As even larger numbers are expected this coming Thursday, patrons are advised to come early for parking and getting a seat in the hall. Proceeds in aid of Collooney Handball Club and all are welcome.

CEMETERY MASSES

The St Nathy’s Cemetery annual Mass will be held this coming Friday, August 5, at 8 p. m. ( weather permitting) and in Kilvarnet Cemetery tomorrow evening, Wednesday, August 3, at 8 p. m. ( weather permitting).

BELTRA COUNTRY MARKET

Our workshop on the Saturday, August 6, will be Beat Buddies – making percussion instrument­s with Catherine. It is suitable for adults and children. The Country Market is open from 10 a. m. to midday and all are welcome.
