BIG CHARITIES’ DONATIONS

A total of € 9,200 was presented recently by the North West Vintage and Heritage Club to the local regional Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and Epilepsy Ireland organisati­ons at a Bee Park Community Centre event.

Each organisati­on received a cheque for € 4,600, respective­ly. The North West Vintage and Heritage Club cheque for the local regional Acquired Brain Injury Ireland organisati­on was accepted by Teresa O’Boyle who is based in their Sligo office.

Teresa paid a warm tribute to the North West Vintage and Heritage Club for their generous donation and to Club member, Chris Cunningham for nominating her organisati­on for funding. The local Acquired Brain Injury Ireland unit covers Donegal, Sligo, West Cavan and Leitrim.

Ms. O’Boyle assured all present that the ‘ money will go to provide services for people in the local region’ who need help, including post injury rehabilita­tion, etc. A brain injury can happen in seconds and change a life forever.

On receiving the cheque for the local regional Epilepsy Ireland organisati­on its representa­tive in Sligo, Agnes Mooney thanked North West Vintage and Heritage Club members Eugene and Breege Kelly for their work in providing the donation for the running of the regional Epilepsy Ireland services.

The local Epilepsy Ireland unit delivers it services to people in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim. Epilepsy Ireland has been in operation for over 50 years.

STOP WALK

The suicide prevention organisati­on STOP ( Start Telling Others Prevention) is promoting a 5k Walk/ Stroll/ Run event in Manorhamil­ton on this Sunday, August 7, at 3 p. m.

The Walk/ Stroll/ Run will start at Manorhamil­ton Castle and it is being organised to raise funds for all people who urgently need STOP’s services. It will be a relaxed family event but the organisers will be happy to see the more competitiv­e people turnout on the day, as well.

MOLLY MCGUINNESS RIP

Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Molly McGuinness Lisnabrack Mullies who died peacefully at St Phelim’s Nursing Home Dromahair.

Molly remains reposed at St Phelim’s Nursing Home on Friday evening, July 22, prior to their removal to the Church of the Annunciati­on, Mullies. Her Funeral Mass and Service took place on Saturday, July at noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
