DRAMA EN PLEIN AIR

Once again the Blue Raincoat Theatre Company will be performing one of Yeats’ plays in an open air setting; on this occasion it is ‘ The Cat and the Moon’, which will be performed this Saturday, August 6, at 6 p. m. at Dooney Rock on the shore of Lough Gill. Admission is free

The play depicts two beggars, one blind and one lame, who travel to the well of St Coleman hoping to be cured of their afflictions. St Coleman gives both beggars a choice between being cured or blessed.

Those of us who attended last year’s performance of ‘ At the Hawk’s Well’, atop of O’Rourke’s Table in Newtownmanor, know that we will not be disappointed if we attend this forthcoming production.

BINGO

Bingo continues as usual every Monday night in the function room of the Blue Devon, Dromahair at 9 p. m.

For those of you who are not regulars, it is a great social occasion, as well a fun opportunity to experience the thrill and frustration of getting/ not getting the numbers you need. All lines € 30, except games 5 and 10, which are € 50, all full houses € 100 and last game € 200.
