Cloonacool defibrilla­tor group would like to thank everyone who donated towards the provision of a new defibrilla­tor for the community. A new defibrilla­tor and protective case has now being purchased and will be installed in a suitable location shortly. First aid and AED training will take place in the coming weeks. Anyone interested can contact any committee member.

MINI MARATHON

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Conboy Clan ( Ger, Helen, Monica, Nicola & Emma) on taking part in the VHI Ladies Mini Marathon recently. The girls raised a total of € 3,732.25 for Sligo Cancer Support Centre, Tubbercurr­y. Well done girls.

During Heritage week 2016 a Local Historical Event, ‘ The Bucks and the Thrashers’ dating back to 1816 will be a re- enacted in Easkey Village on August 20 at 3 p. m., in an outdoor theatre format.

A re- enactment of a historical­ly documented gun duel between Thomas Fenton of Castletown, Easkey and John Hillas of Donecoy, Templeboy and the subsequent court case in an outdoor theatre format will take place in the streets of Easkey.

LOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lottery on Friday, July 22,. Numbers drawn22 30 33 34. Winners of € 25 were Rosemary Mitchell, Caroline Colleary, David and Daphne Higgins, Conor Colleary and Mary Doherty. Promoters prize Martina Reilly. Next week’s jackpot will be € 6,200 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the Community Centre at 8.30 on Friday night. The lotto now is available online. Check out game. smartlotto. ie.

FESTIVAL OF DANCING

The Easkey Festival of dancing starts Friday, August 12, in the spacious Marquee with Jimmy Buckley and Pats Country Roadshow, Continuing on Tuesday, August 16, with Patrick Feeney and PJ Reilly, Wednesday the 17th with the Copperplat­e Ceílí Band and Thursday the 18th with a Teenage Disco.
