Cranmore Family Fun Day
TALENT and pride of place were both rewarded in Cranmore last Saturday as the community put it’s best foot forward for their Annual Family Fun day.
Hundreds of residents turned out to applaud the Best Kept Garden, Best Kept Street and the Best Baked Cake among the various competition winners announced on the day.
Children enjoyed plenty of action on the sports field with games, DJ, face painting, refreshments and hot food to entertain and satisfy appetites afterwards.
The Overall Best Kept Garden 2016 Award went to Seraphina Davey for her beautifully kept garden at No. 34 Cranmore Place.
The Overall Best Kept Street 2016 Award went to the residents of three streets: Cranmore Place, Cranmore Drive and Langan Drive. Each street received a ¤ 25 voucher for Aurivo.
Competition was fierce among the bakers of Cranmore - such was the level of interest that organisers had to split it into adult and children categories.
Trish Kelly was the adult winner of the Best Baked Cake 2016 Award, while Chelsea Loftus was the winner in the children’s category.
“There’s great fun between all the neighbours competing for the Best Garden. People really look forward to it. They put their best foot forward,” said Project Co- ordinator Maureen Durcan.
