-

EASKEY CALRY/ ST. JOSEPH’S 3- 09 1- 15 EASKEY and Calry St. Joseph’s will have to do it all again as their replay of the Senior Relegation final was forced to go to another replay. Calry overturned a nine point deficit at half time to force the game into extra- time, with a last minute point saving their senior status for at least another few days until the replay is played.

Easkey appeared to be comfortable going into half- time with a 2- 07 to 0- 04 lead, but the strong breeze had a huge part to play and Calry clawed their way back into the game. The two sides were level on four points each around the 20 minute mark, before Easkey took advantage of the strong breeze. Eugene Mullen’s two goals gave Easkey a comfortable lead, but Calry then took their turn with the breeze after the re- start.

Kicking over two points almost immediately after the re- start thanks to Eoin Doherty and Benny O’Reilly. Calry kicked on from there and the sides did draw level just before the full- time whistle.

Luck was on Calry’s side, despite the dismissal of Paddy Heraghty, and they were leading by 2- 09 to 1- 14 at half- time in extra- time before a third Easkey goal gave the West Sligo side a one point advantage in the dying minutes.

A last minute point, just in the nick of time from Eoin Doherty levelled the scoring just seconds from the end of extra- time, with a final score of 3- 09 to 1- 15.
