PATSY FAUL R. I. P.

The recent death occurred in Woodstock, Illinois, USA of Patsy Faul. Originally a native of Humbert Street, and Church Street, Tubbercurry, and son of the late Jimmy and Mary Ann Faul, Patsy was 87 years old and a member of the well- known and popular Faul family.

Patsy was very active with Tubbercurry GAA Club in the late 1940s and early 1950s prior to his emigration to America, and was considered a fine sportsman in his youth. Like other youngsters at the time, he also played soccer under pseudo names as the GAA ban on playing ‘ foreign games’ was still very much enforced.

Patsy’s wife Peggy ( née Blaine) was from Crossmolina and in their years in America they lived mainly in the Indiana and Illinois areas. Patsy was predeceased by his brother Jimmy, Johnny and Tommie Eddie, and sister Josie, and is survived by his wife Peggy, brother Charlie, sisters Bridie Synott, Tubbercurry and Mary, Winnie and Madge in England, nephews, nieces and cousins, all to whom sympathy is extended. May he rest in peace.
