New found fame for Ballymote man as online rant goes viral

-

James Conway, a 23- year- old from Ballymote has received a lot of attention online as he uses a video to air his thoughts on the Apple Tax controversy.

Posting it to his Facebook page titled: ‘ a little message from myself to the Irish Government’, James goes on to criticise the Irish Governments decision on the EU Apple tax ruling. The video has received almost 2,000,000 views since it was published last week.

In the video, James urges the Irish Government to take the € 13 billion windfall from the Apple ruling and use it to build infrastructure in Ireland which in turn will create more jobs.

James has been working as a Construction worker in the UK for the last three years. Since his viral fame, James has been sought out to do a public appearance this Saturday the 1st of October at 7.00pm in the Greville Arms in Mullingar in a bid to highlight the issues that are affecting the ‘ ordinary hard working Irish people at home and abroad’.

James posted to his Facebook page saying: “I hope this is the start of a massive movement that will stand at the gates and put the fear of God in them to deliver on the changes promised.” He has also hit back at his detractors in another video at internet trolls who have called him a ‘ ditch digger’, James points out that everyone in Ireland plays a part in society and no person is better or more important than the other. His post has struck a chord with thousands of Facebook users and huge support has been shown for Conway’s appeal to the Irish Government about the Apple Tax Ruling. He is now classed as a ‘ public figure’ on Facebook with daily videos posted.
