whilst we had a penalty awarded which was saved by the Coolera keeper Colm Scanlon. A scrambled goal from veteran sub Joe Davey then brought us level and at the break two swapped points left it level again 2- 18 each at the ET break. We took a rapid three point lead with points from Tony O’Kelly- Lynch and Paul Kilcoyne and held that lead with the ET period ending. However 5 minutes of injury time was played following the 10 minutes of allotted time had elapsed and Coolera grabbed a pointed free, and, devastatingly, a last minute goal. Final Score: Naomh Eoin 2- 21 Coolera/ Strandhill 3- 19. WE are immensely grateful for the effort and training invested by our developing senior team and mentors and hope that we can go one better next year. Good luck to Coolera in the final against defending champions Calry St. Joseph’s.

ST. MARY’S
THE season begins to wind down but there was still a lot of action on Sunday with three different age groups all looking for honours. The Club would like to express it’s thanks to the large band of supporters who turned out this weekend as every week throughout the season and look forward to their continuing support for the remaining games this year. THE U21 side headed out to Curry for the first game in their campaign in Group 1 of the A Championship. The level of play from the St Mary’s side was too much for the lads from South Sligo from he start and the result was not in doubt from the throw in, despite this the Curry team never dropped their heads and were a credit to their management and Club.. St Mary’s ran out with a comfortable and deserved scoreline of 0- 03 to 07- 11. THE U13 played in Kent Park on Sunday morning in the semi final of the Feile and it was a tremendous match with the scores being exchanged with a very determined and entertaining game of football being enjoyed by the large band of supporters of both sides. IN a thrilling County Final The St Mary’s u14 girls played Tourlestrane in the A championship Sunday. The game went to extra time and both sides had some great chances but Tourlestrane eventually ran out winners.
ST. MICHAEL’S

ST. MOLAISE GAELS
IT was back to Markievicz Park on Sunday last and a huge St Molaise Gaels support again were in attendance as Gaels took on senior county champions Tourlestrane in the Division I League final. On this occasion there was disappointment for the intermediate championship winners as despite enjoying a four point lead with just ten minutes remaining Gaels were unable to see the challenge through a remarkable eight minutes of injury time as Tourlestrane showed just why they are the best club side in the county reeling off five points while Gaels could only respond with a solitary score to go down to a 0- 15 to 1- 11 defeat. CONGRATULATIONS to Tourlestrane on a league and championship double. THERE was disappointment too on Sunday for our U13 Boys beaten 4- 14 to 2- 11 by St Mary’s in a thrilling Feile A semi final clash in Kent Park. Gaels led by 1- 08 to 2- 02 at the interval but were unable to contain a superb home side in a second half that was credit to both sides for the quality of football on show. THE next Club Lotto Draw takes place this Monday evening October 17th at 8.30pm. Jackpot is now 2,600 euros. Volunteers to assist with the running of the Lotto are urgently needed. Anyone who can spare a couple of hours once every eight weeks or so would be very welcome and can contact Thomas Kilfeather 087- 2626849 or Sean Herron 087- 7691850. TOURLESTRANE
WELL done to our U- 14 girls who defeated a gallant St Mary’s team in the 2016 A Championship final in Cloonacool in a game that went to extra time. OUR girls took an early lead with some delightful scores but St Mary’s always stayed in touch with scores of their own. The girls in green and gold pushed on and added to their tally and led at half time on a scoreline of 2- 6 to 1- 1. St. Mary’s came out strong in the second half and ran in 3- 5 points but our girls responded excellently and scored a further 2 goals of their own. As the final whistle blew, it was all even at 4- 6 each. IN the first half of extra time, the girls showed their All Ireland Feile Championship experience as they rattled in some brilliant scores. St Mary’s never gave up and pushed our girls all the way but as the final whistle blew it was celebrations for our side on a scoreline of 7- 10 to 5- 8. BEST of luck to our U- 16 girls team and management who play in the A Championship Final this weekend. The team will play either Drumcliffe/ Rosses Point or Shamrock Gaels. This semi final has yet to be played. IT has been an extremely busy, yet proud, 7 days for our Senior Men’s team. Having captured the Sligo Senior Championship title over St. Mary’s on Sunday last, the celebrations came to a halt as they prepared to defend their Division 1 League title. The team showed huge character in the second half to push on and win. This title is the teams 3rd title of the year having won the Championship and the Kiernan Cup. THE Connacht Club Championship has been postponed by a week to allow the Mayo Club Championship to be played. Tourlestrane will face the Mayo Club Champions on the weekend of the 5th/ 6th of November. HARD luck to our Junior A team who lost to St. Michael’s in the Junior A Championship on Sunday last. The team have put in an excellent season and showed pride in the club jersey giving their all until the final whistle. Former All Star and Joint Senior Manager, Eamonn O’Hara scored two excellent goals in the first half but it wasn’t enough against a strong St. Michael’s team. The final score 4- 12 to 2- 5. CONGRATULATIONS to Eamonn O’Hara, David Durkin and former club man, Con O’Meara who have been named on the Ireland Masters team to compete in the International Compromised Rules test this month. THE club would like to offer its sincere condolences to former club physio, Maria Armstrong and the Armstrong family, Tubbercurry, on the untimely passing of Maria’s brother, Mark. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
