MIDTERM CAMP

SCOR NA NÓG

Sligo Scor na nÓg competitio­n takes place on November 26 at 6 p. m. at a venue to be decided. The competitio­n is open to all club members under 17 years. SUICIDE TRAINING

A Safe Talk half day training programme will take place on Wednesday, October 12, from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. in Enniscrone. The training programme prepares people to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. 1966 TEAM HONOURED

At the interval of the Sligo Senior Championsh­ip final held in Markievicz Park on Sunday, October 2, the Easkey panel and management that won the Owen B Hunt Cup in 1966 were honoured and introduced to the crowd.

CEILE

A Ceile with the Copper Plate Ceili Band will be held in Easkey Community Centre on Saturday, October 29, starting at 8.30.

DEATH

The death has taken place of Lolly Devaney, née Finnerty Lenadoon, Rathlee. Her remains were removed from McGowan’s funeral home to the Star of the Sea Church, Rathlee and burial took place in Roslea Cemetry following Requiem Mass. Sympathy is extended to her husband John daughter Mary and son Michael, son- in- law Paul, grandchild­ren, brother Martin and other relatives and friends.

SCARECROW FESTIVAL

The Easkey Scarecrow Festival takes place between October 17 and 31 so start preparing your scarecrow now. The committee will hold quiz nights on October 14 in the Fisherman’s Weir and a Fancy Dress Quiz in McGowan’s on October 22.

The death has taken place of Margaret Burns of New York and late of Kilmacurki­n, Dromore West. Her remains were removed from Sweeney’s funeral to the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Dromore West. Burial took place in Church
