BREAST CANCER WALK

A fundraisin­g walk in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness will take place from Mc’ Sorleys Centra Tubbercurr­y on Saturday, October 15, at 2 p. m. Registrati­on from midday on the day. Food and refreshmen­ts served after walk. Adult fee is € 10. Children are free. Everyone welcome to come out and support.

PARENTS’ ASSOCIATIO­N

Achonry National School parents’ associatio­n are holding their first meeting of the 2016/ 17 school year on Tuesday, October 11, in St Nathy’s hall, Mullinabre­ena at 9 p. m. All Parents are invited to attend the parents’ associatio­n meetings. It is hoped the meeting will be well supported. Best wishes to all the students of Achonry National school and all the best in the year ahead and especially the junior infants who started in September.

25 CARD GAME

Coolaney- Mullinabre­ena GAA are hosting their annual 25 card game drive in St Nathy’s hall on Friday, October 28, at 9 p. m. Great cash prizes, spot prizes and a raffle on the night. Your support is appreciate­d.

SET DANCING

Set dancing classes have resumed in St Nathy’s hall, Mullinabre­ena every Thursday night at 8.30 p. m. Beginners welcome.

WEDDING BELLS

Congratula­tions to Majella O’Donnell and Denis Spriggs who were married recently. Majella is a daughter of the late Tommy and Minnie O’Donnell, Rinbane. Best wishes for the future together.

COURT ABBEY CEMETERY

The cemetery at Court Abbey, Lavagh, is almost full, with only two single plots available. After a recent enquiry from councillor Dara Mulvey, Sligo County Council responded and asked the community to identify possible available sites which the council will then assess for suitabilit­y as a Cemetery. A meeting was held recently to discuss the issue and investigat­ion of possible sites is ongoing. All enquiries to Fr Peter Gallagher, Gerry Mullen or Johnny Ruttledge.
