A FEAST OF BONES

‘ A Feast of Bones’ from Theatre Lovett visits the Hawk’s Well on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th of October. This production is suitable for children aged 9+ and is also suitable for adults. A deliciousl­y dark musical fable for children and adults starring renowned Irish vocalist Lisa Lambe is on tour. Recently returned from a whirlwind tour of USA Theatre Lovett, one of Ireland’s leading companies making work for all ages bring their classic slapstick, song and theatrical­ity to audiences young and old. A sell out show at Dublin Theatre Festival in 2013 A Feast of Bones is a deliciousl­y dark retelling of Henny Penny, a classic fable of survival. Featuring live music, an original score and some dazzling musical talent. Performanc­es on Tuesday 25th of October are at 7.30 pm and on Wednesday 26th of October at 10am. HORROR AT THE GLENS CENTRE!

Come celebrate Halloween with the Glens Centre with a variety of workshops on Sunday 30th and Monday the 31st of October. On the Sunday between 2.00pm- 5.00pm there will be spooky arts and crafts for children. You can create soundtrack to Halloween with sound artist John Daly and there is even pumpkin carving for the adults. On Monday between 4.00pm- 7.00pm they are proud to announce the 1st annual children’s scary film festival that will take place with short films made by children in the Brouhaha Drama Club & St. Clares primary School. DARKTOWN ‘ RURALETTE’

The Glens centre presents an evening with Darktown on the 21st of October at 8.30pm. Come join the party as they launch their newly recorded CD plus a super- limited edition vinyl 7, recorded by Ray Duffy at The Glens. Four years into their art rock/ psych pop journey, Darktown present their second album ‘ Ruralette’.

A combinatio­n of textured, acoustic reveries filtered through the denser electronic or their previous work. Darktown are Donal Adams on guitar, keyboard, bass, drums and vocals. Over 12 days, 14 acts will all play 1 venue: The Swagman Bar! From 20th of October until the 31st a number of musical acts will play each night. From Pearl Jem, Dean Gurrie to the Swagjammer­s there is something for everybody. On Monday the 31st the Swagjammer­s will end Swagstock with a Fancy Dress Halloween Special party.

RÉALTA

Réalta take a lively, exciting and respectful approach to Irish traditiona­l music. This November 4th at 9.00pm they play the Coleman Music Centre Gurteen. Reared on a staple diet of The Bothy Band, Planxty and other such classics, this Belfast based band captures the timeless aspects of the tradition and presents it in its raw form – fresh and beautiful. Having toured Germany, Switzerlan­d and Greece alongside traditiona­l music legends Altan, these young musicians have firmly establishe­d themselves on the internatio­nal Irish music scene. Their music has taken them throughout Europe and on to New York, India and South Korea.

Grab your dancing shoes and find out why as they perform a stirring mix of tunes on uilleann pipes, whistles, flute, guitar, piano, double bass, bouzouki, banjo and bodhrán. THE HIGH HOPES CHOIR

The High Hopes choir to Open Sligo Internatio­nal Choral Festival on Friday the 11th of November at 8.00pm in the Knocknarea Arena. The Committee are delighted to announce that High Hopes will take part. The choir was the subject of a three part documentar­y called High Hopes which aired on RTÉ television in December 2014.

It was based on the lives of people touched by homelessne­ss, ( whether still homeless, working with homelessne­ss, or are now not homeless anymore) in both Dublin and Waterford.
