Children’s theatre festival is all set for the midterm break

This year’s Mad Hatter Festival has a wonderful programme of fun, family- friendly theatre suitable for children of all ages.

The first festival of children’s theatre in Sligo, is the result of a collaborat­ion between the Hawk’s Well Theatre and Blue Raincoat Theatre Company. The festival aims to provide Sligo audiences with a diverse range of high quality artistic production­s from home and abroad and to entertain, teach and inspire the next generation. The festival takes place during midterm, with events taking place in the Hawk’s Well Theatre and the Factory Performanc­e Space.

Throughout the festival, Alice in Wonderland will be performed by Blue Raincoat Theatre Company. Fidget Feet present Cinder and the Ellas at the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Wednesday 2nd of November and on Thursday, 3rd of November Monkeyshin­e Theatre bring their show Voyage to the Hawk’s Well, inspired by Jonathan Swift’s fantastic tales of Gulliver’s Travels. Banyan Theatre bring their production, Gruff on Saturday the 5th of November at 2pm while on Sunday, 6th of November, the Hawk’s Well Theatre Family Proms presents The Song Symphony aimed at introducin­g smallies aged 0- 5yrs and their families to the delights of music in this very special family proms event.
