Fundraiser supports developmen­t squad for the year

LAST Friday evening the annual Sligo GAA Developmen­t squad fundraiser took place at IT Sligo’s Knocknarea Arena.

Once again a great crowd came out to support the evening.

This year we ran a very novel event where we incorporat­ed the audience into 10 different fun events such as snatch the bacon, x’s and o’s, cups and saucers but to name a few.

The 10 winners then went into an overall final to win a fabulous prize sponsored by John Cox’s company RSS.

The prize is a € 100 voucher for a place of the winners choice and € 400 coaching workshop voucher for the club of their choice.

The winner of the overall prize on the evening was Clare Dunne from St Farnan’s. Big congratula­tions to Clare and a big thank you to RSS for this fabulous prize.

There was also 10 prizes for each of the qualifier events on the evening also and we would like to thank the following for their generous prizes:

John Lavin Ballymote, John Kent Sligo, Cut above Hairdresse­rs Dromahair, Pa Murphy Sports Therapist, Michael Duffy Sports Therapist, Charlie Kelly Hairdresse­rs, Hell and Back events company, Connacht GAA, Gateway filling station Collooney and Clifford Electrical Sligo.

Thank you to Colin Feeney who was DJ on the evening and IT Sligo for the use of the fantastic venue.

Finally we would like to sincerely thank all the players, their parents and anyone who kindly contribute­d to this great event.

The proceeds of the evening go to supporting buses, food and gear for our Developmen­t squads throughout the year. NIALL Carew has revealed his provisiona­l panel for next year.

The panel will be cut back to 33 in January.
