EJS SLIGO ALL STARS LETTERKENNY IT 76 71 SATURDAY night saw years of effort and hard work come together with our first home game for the Senior EJ’s Sligo All Stars.

The game was against our local rivals Letterkenny IT and after having two tough away games it was the time to bring it home.

The buzz and crowd were electric from a full house in the Mercy College.

The action on the court replicated the energy in the room. While the All Stars were down by four after the first quarter at 11- 16 with Luke McLoughlin scoring six and Cian Lally scoring five.

In the second quarter we were toe to toe with both sides scoring 20 points each leaving the half time score at 31- 36.

Tobi Brockmann scoring five and Emmet Keogh getting four of his own.

The start of the second half EJs Sligo All Stars started to come into their own with the hosts taking 24 to LYIT’s 17 point putting us in the driving seat going into the 4th at 55- 53.

Our very local hero, Philip Hamilton, causing one of the turning points in the game by nearly bringing the ring down courtesy of an immense slam dunk that certainly entertained/

The crowd went nuts. Plus a crucial three pointer from former Mayo & GAA All Star Ronan McGarrity just before the end of the quarter. Ronan McGarrity and Kayllim Noel scoring six.

The 4th and final quarter sawthe Ejs All Stars playing a game of possession.

This frustrated and tired LYIT causing a number of fouls, with sevenof our 21 point from the free throw line, EJ’s All Stars 21 - 18 LYIT.

Ronan McGarrity played an excellent game holding the ball which ran down the clock with Kaylim Noel pulling foul after foul from the opposition, scoring 5 points from the free throw line.

Final score EJ’s Sligo All Stars 76 - 71 Letterkenny IT.

This was our first home game and first win from an excellent night.

We would like to thank all our friends, family, supporters, sponsors and the traveling Letterkenny IT for a great game and atmosphere roll on the next game.
