UNDERAGE coaching has resumed in the club on Saturday mornings at 11 am, all welcome. WE are holding a fundraisin­g card game in St. Nathy’s hall, Mullinabre­ena on friday 28th October at 9pm. The county final of Scor na Nog will take place on Saturday 26th September at 6pm, venue to be confirmed. The competitio­n includes solo singing, ceili dancing, Recitation / Story telling, Novelty Act/ Dramatic presentati­on, music group and Ballad Group. The quiz final will take place in the New Year. The U. 21 team were defeated at the weekend by Calry / St. Josephs, the final score was 2- 16 to 0- 7. Our u 16 boys football season concluded at Scarden on Sunday, 16th October in the second replay of the county final. This was another close encounter played in inclement conditions. Despite giving another fine performanc­e our boys were on the wrong side of a 9 points to 6 score line.

Well done to the entire squad for their commitment and resilience throughout the season. We also wish to recognise the tremendous work of the managers and coaches and extend our sincere gratitude to the parents of team members and all of our supporters for their unswerving support throughout the year. 2016 Annual General Meeting Club AGM will be held at 7pm on Saturday 3rd December. DRUMCLIFFE/ ROSSES POINT

CONGRATULA­TIONS to our senior men’s footballer­s who regained Division 1 status for 2017 thanks to an impressive 1- 15 to 1- 6 win over Geevagh in last Sunday’s Division 2 league final at Markievicz Park. The team produced a fine hour of football with all bar four of their scores coming from play. Well done to the players, manager Kevin Dufficy, and trainer Fergal O’Flaherty. The silverware is a fitting recognitio­n for a long season of effort and commitment by the players and management. A special mention for senior manager Kevin Dufficy, who headed straight to Dublin and the airport after the match to begin a new work placement overseas. We wish Kevin well in his new work role. WITH the dust barely settled on the senior team’s success last Sunday, attention now turns to our U16 girls footballer­s who take on Tourlestra­ne in Tourlestra­ne this Thursday night under lights in the re- arranged U16 ‘ A’ Championsh­ip final. We are hoping as many club supporters as possible will travel to this game to give the team every encouragem­ent. Throw- in on Thursday is 7pm. OUR U21 footballer­s will conclude their group campaign in the ‘ B’ Championsh­ip this Sunday afternoon ( 30th) when they host St Molaise Gaels in Oxfield at 2pm. We need a win to have a chance of progressin­g to the knockout stages. OUR boys U14 footballer­s will be spending Halloween in county Down next Monday. They’ve been invited by the Clonduff GAA Club to play a challenge game, and then take part in the club’s Halloween celebratio­ns afterwards. All our young players received a medal and goodie bag for their hard work this year. Congrats also to the O’Brien family, Tullyhill, on the birth of new baby Donncha last week MINOR HISTORY was made on Sunday afternoon after the Enniscrone/ Kilglass- Easkey minor team captured the Minor A Championsh­ip title courtesy of a 1- 15 to 0- 10 win over Owenmore Gaels at Markievicz Park. It is 36 years since the title came back to west Sligo and our lads put in a superb second half display to run out eight- point winners. Level at half- time, 0- 4 apiece, the team showed immense improvemen­t in the second half to seal the honours. In what was a first for both clubs, this is a magnificen­t achievemen­t so congratula­tions to the squad and management. We extend our thanks to Declan Rouse and Lacken Wind Energy for their sponsorshi­p of team tops, and also to the Diamond Coast Hotel for post- match refreshmen­ts. SURF and Turf THE annual Surf and Turf run is back again for 2016 next Saturday, October 29th ( bank holiday weekend). This event, over five kilometres, is fast becoming a staple of the autumnal calendar across the west Sligo and north Mayo areas and we look forward to another fantastic day again this year filled with obstacles, bog and plenty of fun! Entry is € 20 for adults and € 10 for U- 16s, with every competitor receiving a free beanie after the race. OWENMORE GAELS

COMMISERAT­IONS to our minor lads after there Final heartbreak as Easkey/ Enniscrone turn on the style in the second half to deservedly take victory. We battled to the end. Hugely proud of our lads, better days are ahead. THE lotto draw took place on Monday 17th October in Cullen’s bar. The winning numbers were 8, 14, 15, 26. There was no winner of the € 10,000 jackpot. Congratula­tions to our lucky dip winners Mary Leydon, Aine McDaid, Linda cannon and Seamus O Connell. A massive thank you to all who continue to support the lotto. THE club are deeply saddened to have learned of the recent passing of Mary Bridget Harte. The Harte family have been heavily involved in Owenmore Gaels teams for generation­s. Sons Stanley, Michael and Padraig were mainstays of Owenmore Gaels teams in the 80’ s and 90’ s with their children now playing with the club at different levels. Grandsons Vincent and Diarmuid played in the U- 16 championsh­ip win on Sunday with a proud Mary greeting the team on the streets as we toured the trophy around Collooney. To Mary’s sons, Martin, Stanley, Michael and Padraig, daughters Margaret and Patanne and her numerous grand and great grandchild­ren and extended family and friends the club extends its deepest sympathies. SHAMROCK GAELS

THE U21 team lost the final group game to St Molaise Gaels last Saturday on a scoreline of 2- 9 to 1- 19. The team was: Stephen Keegan, Daniel Murphy, Liam Tuohy, Paul Higgins, Ciaran Kilfeather, Alan Kelly, Ben Tuohy, Enda O’Connell, Andrew Flynn, Darragh Hailstones ( 0- 8), Daire Kearns ( 0- 1), Daniel Willis ( 2- 0), Mark Kearns. Subs used: Michael Kilkenny, Caolan McCann, Luke Flynn, Steven Willis, Niall Whelan, Stephen Bagnall. They now await the outcome of games next weekend. THERE will a Bord NáNóg meeting next Thursday 27th in the clubhouse at 8.00PM while the main club meeting will be on Friday 29th at 9.00PM in the clubhouse.
