Cafe Fia back in Coolaney

-

THERE is only one community- owned and run café in Connacht and it opened its doors in the village of Coolaney last weekend.

Café Fia began its winter opening to great welcome from locals and visitors alike who were smitten with the exquisite autumnal décor and the delicious homemade produce.

Café Fia will open from 11am – 5pm each weekend until Christmas on the Main Street of Sligo’s Tidiest Town.

This unique café sees a team of dedicated volunteers providing high- quality service with the added friendliness that comes from having a personal connection with customers.

The cafe is a community café and each volunteer, supplier and customer is part of that community.

Neighbours meeting up or visitors dropping in are all welcomed and hosted with genuine warmth.

Café Fia offers a sumptuous selection of home- baked goods, all fresh and produced within the locality.

Scones, tarts and cakes are served on vintage china with kid- sized treats for smaller diners.

For cold winter days they have freshly- brewed coffee, hearty soups and a new range of delicious sandwiches.

Taking its name from the deer inhabiting the Ox Mountains, Café Fia is a must- visit for anyone in Sligo wishing to experience a community at work.

The team of volunteers have created something very special and a café environment not to be found anywhere else in Connacht.

Everyone is invited from 11am – 5pm each weekend to be part of this new Café Commu- nity while enjoying the best of home baking into the bargain.

This winter is going to be especially cosy and warm in the foothills of the Ox mountains, so take a table and enjoy the re- opened Café Fia.
