Sally Gardens hit Adelaide Casino for seven

-

THE Sally Gardens registered their biggest victory of the season on Tuesday last, as they saw off the Adelaide casino 7- 0. The tone of the game was set early on as the Sallys raced into a 2- 0 lead before half time courtesy of two goals from Damien Fallon.

Any hope of a fight back was quickly diminished as the Sallys ran riot in the second half and notched up another five goals courtesy of Francis Candon, Ash, a brace from Noel Meenaghan and another from Damien Fallon, which secured his hat trick in what was a man of the match display from the striker.

The bald Eagles continued their impressive start to the season by holding the Belfry to a 1- 1 draw. The Bald Eagles were looking set for a famous victory as they took a 1- 0 lead in the second half thanks to a deflected effort from Stephen Clancy. However eight minutes from time, after a mix up on the Bald Eagles penalty area, Ian Rossiter earned his side a share of the spoils by slotting the ball home into the bottom corner of the Bald Eagles net. This was an important point for both sides as they aim to finish in the top 6 before the league splits at Christmas.

Retro Rovers continued their poor start to the season and are still awaiting their first points of the season as they were beaten 2- 1 by Cash Savers Calcio on Wednesday last. Despite taking an early 1- 0 lead through Gary Devins, Cash Savers battled back to collect all 3 points thanks to goals from James Coggins and a goal of the season contender from Kevin Banks. The result ensured that cash Savers Calcio are still very much in the hunt for a top six finish.

Ballyshannon also continued their excellent start to the season after coming from 2- 0 down to defeat GSS on a score line of 4- 2. GSS made a fantastic start to the game and raced into a 2- 0 lead courtesy of Brendan Lynch and Derek Healy. However the Donegal men battled back into the game and were soon back on level terms after a brace from their in form striker Seamus Kane. They continued where they left off in the first half by registering another 2 goals in the second half, again through Seamus Kane which secured his hat trick and also a goal from Sean Taylor.

EJs inflicted a first defeat of the season on Sheffield Thursday on Friday last as they ran out 3- 2 winners in the top of the table clash, while Strand Celtic still remain unbeaten all season as they played out an entertaining 1- 1 draw with Forrest Celtic.
