The annual general meeting of Achonry National School parents’ associatio­n will take place on Wednesday the ninth of Nov at 8 p. m. in St Nathy’s hall, Mullinabre­ena. School Principal Ms. Cora Kivlehan will be in attendance and will address the meeting. All parents are invited and are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting. It is important our parents’ associatio­n continues to grow and provide on going support for all our Children and our school.

SET DANCING

Set dancing classes have resumed in St Nathy’s hall, Mullinabre­ena and continue every Thursday night at 8.30 p. m. Beginners welcome.

25 CARD GAME

The weekly 25 card game continues in St Nathy’s hall every Friday at 9 p. m. New players are always welcome.

COURT ABBEY CEMETERY

The cemetery at Court Abbey, Lavagh is almost full, with only two single plots available. After a recent enquiry from councillor Dara Mulvey, Sligo County Council responded and asked the community to identify possible available sites which the council will then assess for suitabilit­y as a Cemetery. A meeting was held recently to discuss the issue and investigat­ion of possible sites is ongoing. All enquiries to Fr Peter Gallagher, Gerry Mullen or Johnny Ruttledge.

SPEECH/ DRAMA CLASSES

The Speech and Drama classes continue every Thursday evening in St Nathy’s hall. Contact Maureen Leonard Dodd at 087 2836004 for more informatio­n.

LOTTO

The lottery took place in the Owenmore Inn on Monday, October 31. The numbers drawn were 5, 16, 28 and 30. There was no winner of the € 10,000 jackpot. Congratula­tions to our four luckydip winners Helen Lavin, Ann Mullen, Padraic O’Connor and Kieran Gilligan. € 30 each who each get € 30. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and continues to support the club. The next draw will take place in Connollys Pub on Monday, November 14, for the € 10,000 jackpot

TRAD SESSIONS

Traditiona­l Music sessions takes place in Durkins Ballinacar­row every Friday night and a Sing Along night will take place on Wednesday, November 9.
