A selection of Sligo’s leading crafts people will bring their produce together under one roof in the run up to Christmas.

A collection of makers from the Made in Sligo craft group will be opening a town centre pop- up shop to showcase and sell their wares from Thursday 1st December comes as Sligo aims to up its drive to maximise support for local goods and services in the busiest shopping period of the year.

The pop- up shop at Water Lane will display a diverse range of ceramics, wood- turning, photograph­y and pottery products from some of Sligo’s award winning craft producers. Chairman of Made in Sligo Matt Jones said: “Everyone agrees that given the current economic challenges, it is more important than ever to support local businesses, particular­ly smaller local enterprise­s. Our jointly run store at Water Lane will make it easier for shoppers to buy local as we bring together a wide range of gift ideas made by a variety of craftworke­rs under one roof.”

Made in Sligo is a network of gifted and quality assessed craft workers who have come together to promote the very best quality of Sligo design and craft products.

Set up in 2010, it gathers under one brand all that is excellent in Sligo creativity, design and craft manufactur­e and acts as a flagship for craft producers in County Sligo.
