PHIL COULTER: FESTIVE REFLECTION­S

Up in that Pantheon inhabited by the biggest selling recording artistes of all time in Ireland, rubbing shoulders with Bono and the Boys, you might be surprised to bump into Phil Coulter on November 20th at 8.00pm in the Hawkswell Theatre. WINDMILL PLAYERS

Winnmiller Players formally St Farnanas Drama Group are returning to the Dromore West Community Centre once again with a farcical comedy for your enjoyment. The Ray Conney play ‘ It Runs in the Family’ will run from Thursday, November 24th to Sunday November 27th. Doors will open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8.00pm. TEENS GOT TALENT

Enthusiast­ic students from Sligo IT are hosting an event in aid of Mental Health Ireland and Family Careers Ireland. Kyle Walsh, Philip Murphy and Sorcha Savage are organizing a Teens Got talent competitio­n on Thursday the 24th Nov at 8pm in the Radisson Blu Hotel sponsored by Supermacs Sligo. Guest judges on the night are Kelesa Mulchay, Keith O’Donnell, Sarah Burns and Johnathan carter. The audience will also be able to vote on the night. MC on the night is Jason Mills and music by Deja Groove. DONAL DINEEN PRESENTS BACKSTORYS

Backstory is a night of dancing tunes and original visuals hosted by Donal Dineen with a Guest DJ on Saturday the 3rd of December in The Model Sligo. Documentin­g the many shades of soul music and the myriad mysterious ways of the boogie will be the golden thread that runs throughout the night. The idea is to tell a story using tunes from all decades of dance music from 1930’ s West Africa to the present day. All manner of rhythms and every kind of beat will be on the menu. All of dance music’s rich tapestry will be on display. It’s an exploratio­n of the history of the groove with an ear to the present and an eye on the future. Ideally the story should end somewhere in 2025. The Gallery Cafe be open all evening with a specal Christmas tapas menu for The Models end of year party.

ASLAN & MUNDY

Aslan are an Irish rock band from Dublin who formed in 1982 composed of Christy Dignam, Joe Jewell, Billy McGuinness, Alan Downey and Rodney O’Brien, the band has released six studio albums. Along with Aslan, Irish singer song writer with legendary song ‘ Galway Girl’ Mundy will play HMV Soundgarde­n on Saturday the 3rd of December. Support by local legend Dean Gurrie. NOBODY’S TALKING TO ME

After an unpreceden­ted three years on the road with the sell- out hit comedy ‘ It’s the Real McCoy’ is coming to the Hawk’s Well theatre on December 27th & 28th. Playwright Tommy Marren presents his brand new play that promises just as many laughs in a rip- roaring new twohour Irish comedy set in rural Ireland in 1968. The action takes place in the kitchen of Mattie and Maggie Conway on the day of their 50th wedding anniversar­y. However, what should be a day of great celebratio­n is anything but! The ‘ happy couple’ haven’t spoken a single word to one another for 10 years and when the parish priest decides to surprise them by dropping in to renew their marriage vows all hell breaks loose!
