FITNESS TEACHERS SOUGHT

The Avalon Centre wish to recruit enthusiast­ic and energetic individual­s who seek experience in assisting the delivery of fitness classes for children. There will be a particular focus on basic gymnastics and gym fun. The individual­s will also be required to support the provision of other school- age services in the centre.

No experience is required but a keen interest in fitness, physical activities and working with children is highly desirable. This is a fantastic opportunit­y for the ideal candidate to avail of training opportunit­ies while gaining high quality experience.

CE PROJECT

We are looking for youth leaders for immediate start on our DSP funded CE project. Applicatio­ns are also invited for the positions of Receptioni­st and Care- taker. ( CE conditions apply). TODDLER GROUP

The popular Little Buddies Toddler Group continues on Wednesdays from 10.30 a. m.- midday during the school term. This is a toddler group for children aged 0- 4 years. Parents, grandparen­ts and carers are all welcome. Preschoole­rs can have fun with art and craft, messy play, cookery, music, games, story- time, physical activity and play time- all for just € 3 per family. FUN SINGING

Fun Singing is back at the Avalon Centre. Find your three voices – head, chest and belly and what sound each one gives you. Learn about the importance of breathing correctly for singing and how to do it; learn about the importance of posture for singing; learn about rhythm and timing. Find out how your vocal chords work and how you make the sounds you do.

Classes are on Tuesdays: 6- 9 year olds from 4.30 p. m. to 5.30 p. m.; 9- 13 year- olds from 5.30 p. m. to 6.30 p. m. The cost is € 50 per term. Registrati­on for the classes will take place at the start of the first class.

BINGO

Bingo continues every Friday night at the centre from 9 p. m. Double books are € 15; single books, € 10; half books, € 5 and single sheets € 1.

AFTERSCHOO­L

Our afterschoo­l and youth clubs continue to run, the junior club ( 6- 10 years) runs Monday and Wednesday from 6.30 p. m. to 8 p. m. The senior club ( 10- 14 years) runs from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. on Tuesday and Thursday nights. The club incorporat­es sports, singing, dance, arts and crafts.

BOWLING CLUB

The men’s bowling club meets every Wednesday from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m.
