FITNESS TEACHERS SOUGHT

The Avalon Centre wish to recruit enthusiastic and energetic individuals who seek experience in assisting the delivery of fitness classes for children. There will be a particular focus on basic gymnastics and gym fun. The individuals will also be required to support the provision of other school- age services in the centre.

No experience is required but a keen interest in fitness, physical activities and working with children is highly desirable. This is a fantastic opportunity for the ideal candidate to avail of training opportunities while gaining high quality experience.

CE PROJECT

We are looking for youth leaders for immediate start on our DSP funded CE project. Applications are also invited for the positions of Receptionist and Care- taker. ( CE conditions apply). Experience is not necessary but is an advantage. Training is available in a quality work experience environment. More details are available on jobsireland. ie. TODDLER GROUP

The popular Little Buddies Toddler Group continues on Wednesdays from 10.30 a. m.- midday during the school term. This is a toddler group for children aged 0- 4 years. Parents, grandparents and carers are all welcome. Preschoolers can have fun with art and craft, messy play, cookery, music, games, story- time, physical activity and play time- all for just € 3 per family. FUN SINGING

Fun Singing is back at the Avalon Centre. Find your three voices – head, chest and belly and what sound each one gives you. Learn about the importance of breathing correctly for singing and how to do it; learn about the importance of posture for singing; learn about rhythm and timing. Find out how your vocal chords work and how you make the sounds you do.

Classes are on Tuesdays: 6- 9 year olds from 4.30 p. m. to 5.30 p. m.; 9- 13 year- olds from 5.30 p. m. to 6.30 p. m. The cost is € 50 per term. Registration for the classes will take place at the start of the first class.

BINGO

Bingo continues every Friday night at the centre from 9 p. m. Double books are € 15; single books, € 10; half books, € 5 and single sheets € 1.

AFTERSCHOOL

Our afterschool and youth clubs continue to run, the junior club ( 6- 10 years) runs Monday and Wednesday from 6.30 p. m. to 8 p. m. The senior club ( 10- 14 years) runs from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. on Tuesday and Thursday nights. The club incorporates sports, singing, dance, arts and crafts.

BOWLING CLUB

The men’s bowling club meets every Wednesday from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m.
