1 DONAL DINEEN PRESENTS BACKSTORYS Backstory is a night of dancing tunes and original visuals hosted by Donal Dineen with a Guest DJ on Saturday the 3rd of December in The Model Sligo. The idea is to tell a story using tunes from all decades of dance music from 1930’ s West Africa to the present day. Ideally the story should end somewhere in 2025. The Gallery Cafe be open all evening with a special Christmas tapas menu.

2 ASLAN AND MUNDY Aslan are an Irish rock band from Dublin who formed in 1982 composed of Christy Dignam, Joe Jewell, Billy McGuinness, Alan Downey and Rodney O’Brien, the band has released six studio albums. Along with Aslan, Irish singer song writer with legendary song ‘ Galway Girl’ Mundy will play HMV Soundgarde­n on Saturday the 3rd of December. Then DJ Multy till late! Free entry until 9.30pm € 5 until 10.30pm and € 10 after 10.30pm.

3 DECK THE HALLS Christmas Floral Demonstrat­ion by Austin Strong “Deck the Halls” in the Glens Centre, Manorhamil­ton on Tuesday 6th December @ 8pm. Admission is 10 Euros and includes mulled wine & mince pies. Arrangemen­ts will then be raffled off.

4 CHRISTMAS MARKET Molaise Gaels Christmas Market 2016 takes place on Sunday Dec 4th, 12 noon till 6pm, there will be over 50 stands with local produce, crafts, fantastic gift ideas. Entry to the grounds on the day € 10 per family, all children visit Santa and receive a gift FREE of charge.

5 SLIGO ON ICE This Sunday the 4th of Dec, the big freeze will hit Sligo! Located on Ballast Quay and staying opening until the 29th of January there are family deals to be had with a family of four coming in at 48 and family of five for 58. Adults are € 15 and Students € 14 and children 4- 12 € 12. This includes your skates and there are no booking fees required. 6 BENBULBEN 5K The annual Benbulben 5K Road Race takes place on Sunday, December 4th. Registrati­on takes place at the Oxfield Community Centre from 10.00am. The 5k walk starts at 11.40am while the runners are off at midday. Entry cost € 12 on the day. There will be a perpetual cup up for grabs on the day as well as the usual category prizes.

7 SLIGO BAROQUE ORCHESTRA Sligo Baroque Orchestra presents their end of year concert ‘ Hidden Gems’ in the foyer of the Hawk’s Well Theatre. This Thursday the 1st of December at 8.00pm. 8 COUNTRY MARKET Drummartin Country Market, located beside Joe Dan’s Pub on the Ballina Road out of Tubbercurr­y, is open every Saturday between 10.30am to 12.30pm. They have a large selection of home baked goods, free range eggs, organic Dexter Beef, organic lamb, organic vegetables and much more.

9 MAKING A MEDIUM Due to popular demand a second of Making a Medium screening will take place in Sligo Omniplex at 7.30pm this Thursday the 1st of December. The film is unique as it was completely self funded by the producers with no outside help. Tickets are € 10 and are available from the Heart’s Desire Cafe in Stephen Street car park, Sligo.

10 ALI BABA AND THE FORTY THIEVES Coolera Dramatic Society’s annual panto, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves runs from Sunday the 4th to Saturday the 17th of December. This panto is all but sold out but there are still a few tickets still available for weekday shows. Directed by Bobby Jones, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves is one of the most familiar of the Arabian Nights tales. Running from this Sun 4 - Fri 16 Dec, 8pm Sat 17 Dec, 7.30pm.
