2 CONAL GALLEN Ireland’s number one comedian is bringing his hilarious new one man stand up show Only Joking to the stage this Friday the 20th in the Hawk’s Well Theatre at 8.00pm. Packed full of new songs and jokes as well as some fan favourites, Only Joking is Conal’s best show to date. 3 THREE THURSDAYS: BOOKS AND WINE The popular Books & Wine event returns this Thursday the 19th of Jan with guest John Ryan, who will discuss the book The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende. The event is designed to whet the appetite and deepen your enjoyment of reading. Bernard Daly from Hargadon Bros Grocer, Wine & Spirit Merchants, will present a wine that compliment­s the writing. 5 NIAMH CROWLEY: MUSIC AND MEMORIES Niamh Crowley is one of the most loved and respected musicians in Sligo. A longstandi­ng member of Camerata Ireland and the West Ocean String Quartet, Niamh’s music has brought her all over the world. 6 WEDDING EXPO The Northwest Wedding Expo is the biggest wedding event in The Northwest and has over 80 wedding suppliers in attendance each year. Organised by Myweddings­tore.ie the event is running from this Saturday the 21st of January to Sunday the 22nd January, both days from 12pm- 6pm in the Knocknarea Arena at IT Sligo.

7 NORTHWEST MACRA KINGS AND QUEENS It’s that time of year again – it’s time to dust of the January Blues with the entertaini­ng North West Macra na Feirme Kings and Queens event and Royal

Banquet. The evening starts at 7.30pm with the introducti­on of the Kings and Queens. There will be music, dancing and celebratio­ns ‘ till late.
