‘ Brexit’ the theme for Patrick’s Day parade
Ballymote’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee are asking anyone interested in taking part of volunteering for the event to get in touch as preparations are in full swing.
The St. Patrick’s Day parade in the town took a one year hiatus in 2015, but returned last year bigger and better than ever.
The theme of this year’s event is the much talked about ‘ Brexit’ which is sure to attract some interesting floats and displays on the day.
The committee has organised for the popular band from the north to come to the town once again.
Anyone with an interest in entering a float in the parade or with an interest in volunteering on the day or helping out in some way can contact Pat McGrath on 0876702792 or Mary Taheny in the Coach House Hotel.
Pat McGrath, organising committee, says the town will be all done up for the event, and he has asked people to get in touch if they are interested in the parade.
“The town will be all decked out in the Irish colours ahead of the event. We have had huge interest in the parade as always and if there’s anyone who wants to know more or wants to take part then please get in touch with us,” he told The Sligo Champion.
Fundraising events have been ongoing, with the latest taking place last Friday night at the Coach House Hotel, attracting a huge crowd ahead of the parade.
