A Marram grass planting session will take place on the dunes in Strandhill on Saturday, March 25, at 11 a. m. Marram grass forms a deep network of roots holding sand dunes together preventing erosion in the form of blowouts. The grass we will be planting will be taken in small amounts from other parts of the dune area so care will have to be taken not to damage these areas also.
