Meanwhile, on Monday 6th March Sky Sports Living For Sport mentor Áine Tighe visited the school.

Áine is a Gaelic football player for Leitrim, captain of her club and captained University of Limerick to back- to- back O’Connor cup wins in 2014 and 2015. She took a group of girls from first and second year who are taking part in the Sky Sports Living For Sport program here in the school by doing after school basketball for a workshop. Áine shared her story with the girls about her background in sport and discussed the “keys to success” in sport.

These are the top six life- skills athletes identified as enabling them to achieve success in sport. The girls then took part in activities designed to reinforce what these skills look like in a practical setting. All the girls who took part thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and getting to meet and learn from someone who has had such a successful career in sport.
